POSITION OVERVIEW
The role of the Assistant Educator is to participate as an effective staff member of REED, ensuring the organisation’s philosophy, policies, procedures and values are upheld. Under the guidance of the Team Leader/Group Leaders, the position is responsible for ensuring standards are met as per the National Quality Standards and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operations
Deliver quality care and educational programs for children under the supervision of the Team Leader/Qualified in a vibrant, varied, and appropriate way, aligned with the National Quality Framework.
2. In Relation to Children
Support and include all children, regardless of gender, background, or status, while acting as a positive role model and ensuring their safety, supervision, and well-being. Encourage healthy lifestyles, rest, and respect their unique perspectives, while maintaining the service philosophy and assisting with the collection and evaluation of their records.
3. In Relation to Families
Be courteous and helpful to families, ensuring they feel welcome and involved in the Service. Respect confidentiality, share relevant information about their child's day and activities, and discuss any concerns with the Team Leader as needed. Always ensure children are ready for departure and maintain open communication with families.
4. In relation to Educators / Staff:
Promote the highest standard of care for children, following National Quality Standards and Service policies, while responding to their individual needs and ensuring safety. Participate in professional development, respect and support the diverse contributions of fellow educators, and maintain open communication. Share responsibilities for cleaning, workload, and confidentiality.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
KPI’s will be reviewed annually with your relevant manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALITIES, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
Current Western Australian WWCC.
Current National Police Clearance.
